Restorative Care
Creating Healthy Functioning Smiles
Restorative dentistry refers to the restoration of natural teeth that have been damaged, decayed, or lost. Restorations may include crowns, bridges, or dental implants for tooth replacement. In addition to precision-crafted crowns and bridges, Dr. Michael Boldt is a restorative dentist who provides dental implant restorations to permanently replace missing teeth.
Crowns
Crowns are dental restorations, also known as “caps,” or coverings that fit over teeth. Crowns are used to protect old fillings and fractured, chipped, or sensitive teeth. Crowns can improve the appearance of natural teeth that are malformed, poorly positioned, or discolored. Crowns are made of natural-looking porcelain. Sometimes a metal shell is used under the porcelain to provide additional strength.
Bridges
Bridges are the ideal way to replace missing teeth. Bridges are used when one or more teeth are lost and there are still healthy teeth on either side of the space. A bridge containing replacement teeth can be attached to two crowns placed over the two teeth on either side of a space.
